Doisy and Dam is a specialist chocolate bar manufacturer, established in Brockley, south east London in 2014. Wanting to differentiate themselves from mainstream chocolate manufacturers, they have specialised in very high quality organic ingredients and the use of superfoods to improve their nutritional value and flavour.

The company is named after Edward Doisy and Henrik Dam, the two scientists who won a Nobel Prize in 1943 for the discovery of vitamin K, and who were very concerned about food and nutrition. The company wants to follow in their footsteps and make a difference by acting in the most responsible way possible. They aim to buy all their cocoa directly from source in 2018, and hope to own and run their own cocoa plantation in Columbia by 2020.

The end result is a special range of chocolate bars that all incorporate superfoods, and which are available nationally in the UK through retailers such Selfridges, Ocado, Planet Organic and Sainsbury as well as many independents.

“Labelling our products well is as important as making our chocolate well, as our packaging has to reflect our values and sell our products,” explains Richard Wilkinson, Co Founder of the company. “We needed five different bars, in two different sizes, re-labelled, and Axicon were able to provide us with perfectly printed labels in the matt finish we needed to match our packaging. The staff were very helpful in explaining all the options and the labels arrived ready to be used.”
